Haridwar: To mark National Girl Child Day, Haridwar teenager Srishti Goswami will take over as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for a day on Sunday. She will attend the Bal Sabha session in Dehradun.

Students of BSC Agriculture live in Daulatpur village of Goswami district. Her father runs a small shop in the village and her mother is an Anganwadi worker. The 19-year-old became the Chief Minister of the Uttarakhand Bal Sabha in 2018.

In 2019, Goswami went to Thailand to take part in Girls’ International Leadership.

“Srishti is a brilliant child. She wants to work for the upliftment of girl students everywhere. She is also part of a social organisation that motivates the girls towards getting an education,” her father Praveen Puri told TOI.

The one-day chief minister will administer the state’s summer capital from Guysain, and review various schemes run by the state government, including Atal Ayushman Yojana, Smart City Project, Homestay Scheme by Tourism Department and other development projects.

Authorities to give a detailed presentation to Goswami

Speaking about the opportunity to become the one-day Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Goswami said that she was overwhelmed and would try her best to prove that the youth can stay in the administration while working for the welfare of the people.

“I still can’t believe this is true. I am overwhelmed. But at the same time, I will do my best to prove that I can excel in administration while working for the welfare of young people.”

Goswami will make a detailed presentation on various departments before the officials take over the Chief Minister’s office. The Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission has also written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the hill state in this regard.

However, Vikas is seen as a real-life hero, a Bollywood film where a common citizen moves forward with accountability while on a day’s duty as the Chief Minister, this is not the first time an Indian girl has had a Has handled such leadership for the day.
