On Saturday, he was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi after the condition of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav deteriorated. 72-year-old Lalu Prasad was undergoing treatment for several diseases at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi and was taken to Delhi.
New Delhi: Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi on Saturday (January 23, 2021) after his health deteriorated.
“He has been admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the Cardiothoracic Center of AIIMS,” an official was quoted as saying.
72-year-old Lalu Prasad, convicted in fodder scam cases, was undergoing treatment for several ailments at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.
The condition of the former Bihar Chief Minister was monitored by a team of doctors.
“Lalu Prasad was having trouble breathing for the last two days. He had pneumonia on Friday. Considering his age, we decided to shift him to AIIMS-Delhi on the advice of doctors for better treatment. ”
The family met Prasad on Friday night after which Tejashwi told reporters that Lalu’s condition was worrisome.
Lalu’s family had sought the help of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the state government in arranging to take him to Delhi.
